Gerard Martayan – SPEAKERS

Gérard is a geoscientist by background with over 32 years of Oil & Gas industry experience. Over his career, he served in numerous positions including R&D geophysicist at Total and Geophysical advisor to
the 3D subsurface modelling group at Schlumberger.

He traveled to Colombia for the first time in the late 90s, during one of his overseas assignments with Schlumberger in Latin America. Ever since, Gérard, has been a regular visitor to Colombia and its mines areas. Over the years, he has developed a passion for emeralds and expertise with minerals, specimen and colectibles. He is always in the process of planning his next trip to the Boyacá mines whenever time permits.
